Diggin deep in the pocket o' joy!

I'm linking up with Monica at Holistic Mum for this weeks Joy Pockets! Join in and go and check out all the joys xxx

Its been a crazy rollercoaster of a week (...its that Moon vibe again!) but it all seems to have settled again now. Little J has had Chicken Pox and been having some pretty spectaular tantrums too but he seems back to his usual self now..phew. Anyways, there were plenty of joyous moments betwixt the crazy including...

J learning to fly with Cedric the Dragon

Getting back into making and doing!

Blue skies (albeit very briefly)

But the biggest joy this week has been the gift of HOPE! Being told that my brother will walk again, with a frame to begin with (within 6 months or so), but the new physio seems determined that he will walk. This really is so beautifully joyous to hear after 4 1/2 years of negative and jaded physios and OT's care of the NHS. My little bro really is the most inspiring and amazing guy, as are my parents who have supported and done everything possible for hoime these past few years. Their happiness and my brother's motivation and energy give me such deep joy that it makes me want to cry.
 ***
The kindness of friends, who are healing me (giving me Bowen therapy for my hip) and feeding me (thanks for looking after my boy and for the yum lunch lovely Lara!!)
 ***
Finishing work on a Friday night and driving down the country lanes with the moon shining above. (Then cracking open a bottle of rum...yum!)

***

My little bro is a musician and has started a blog of his own over at Spinz&Needles. Drop by and check out his work, there is a link to a little documentary they made about him in the earliest post and his strong anti-drug message. He could do with a warm welcome to blog land!

Having scratched around in my memory (not so good these days!), I've dug out a few little moments of joy! Its been a good week, pretty hectic , but good. Ive been given a lot of goodies from folk this week!

A brand new (hand me down) dress given to me , along with a whole load of other gorgeous things, from a super fab friend who is moving abroad for a while!! thanks bird x
Another hand me down gift but equally awesome...a popcorn maker, I wasn't convinced at first sight and thought it would be another unused kitchen gadget thingmajig...but its amazing, no oil and it never burns and it fab for ravenous Miss M when she gets in from school...yey again for generous friends!
Miss M is getting her first taste of photography, shes started using my camera..Ive been laughing at some of the shots she takes and just how excited she is taking photos.

Watching Little Mr J get seriously into the Chilli Peppers and rocking out on his little ukelele

Joy Pockets

Its been a few weeks since I took part in Bohemian Twilight's Joy Pockets, its not that there has been no joy...just a little lacking in time! Family and friends staying, late night bonfires and bbq's..when the british summer was being kind to us!.
Anyway, here goes.... some little peeks at the things that have bought me joy this past week...

The wedding album cover...better late than never

Butterflies at the natural history museum

Visiting the Natural History Museum in Tring, Hertfordshire...just amazing!
*
Watching little Miss M make everyone smile and laugh, especially her "80 something" year old big nana
*
Friut leathers...a brilliant new recipe to help use the ridiculous amount of apples and blackberries here.
*
Sitting around a bonfire watching shooting stars on the New Moon with my beautiful neighbours.
*
Feeling in tune with the elements, enjoying the bounty of late Summer and welcoming Autumn.
*
Watching piglets and mama pig root around and then just collapse into a heap and sleep, they really know how to chill out! (this was on a visit to the Maize Maze and Fun Farm...but I want pigs and goats now!!)
*
Giving up eating Wheat (again...) and starting to feel a whole lot better already
*
Finshing making a friends wedding album cover (finally...nearly a year late..oops...)
*
Seeing the little J after his hair cut, we asked for it to be kept long, just trimmed a bit...they gave him a proper short boys hair cut, but when I saw him I couldnt stop laughing..it was really the first time ive seen him as a boy rather than my little baby/toddler!

Comments left by lovely blogging folk! You all bring me joy xxx

Well, cheerio, we are off for a little bike ride now to find more blackberries!! yum

Joy Pockets

A few little moments that sprung to mind were this...
whirling and twirling with our veils

the mess and joy of days out with little ones

A 1970's childrens book about potatoes...random but finding it in the local charity shop = joy

what can i say..I'm easily amused!
 *
cheery and kind comments from fellow bloggers....thankyou x
*
This post from the lovely Soulemama (so reassuring to hear others have the same kind of chaos!)
*
sound of giggling from hiding children (and the fact that they always hide in the same place for hide and seek)
*
a bright moon amongst the black silhouette of beech trees
*
singing loudly to myself in the car (and nearly remembering all the words to this song  by Johnny Flynn & Laura Marling.) I just love the lyrics.
*
birds singing

Thankyou to the inspiring Monica at Bohemian Twilight for sharing the idea of Joy Pockets...x

Wishing you all a full moon fun packed weekend xxxxxxxx

Joy Pocket

this week I have mostly been enjoying...

sitting up a tree and havin a laugh with some lovely folk I met at the Port Eliot Fest (and yes I really am that unphotogenic, its quite a talent!)

Harnessing some manic kid energy to help me sort out the big fat peas that have ripened en masse!

Another new/old dress (the one on the left) a lovely 70's number I think!?
*
getting an inspiring and insightful new (old) book on toaism and tai chi
 *
escaping the kids for an evening of dancing and fun
*
clear nights with thousands of stars and fresh cool air
*
hearing the kids tell each other "I love you" (cheesy I know, but very cute!)
*
Banana and chocolate cake (the eating of..)

Joy pockets...

I've buzzed about in such a haze of stress and worry this past week that I thought it would be good to have a try at Bohemian twilight's joy pockets . So here goes...
Watching the garden grow and blossom (yey! for strange round courgettes!)
and escaping on my bike down the lanes (at 9pm at night in the light!)

*    remembering that all life is change
*    kind words from lovely friends
*    listening to the birds (and the rather noisy sheep)
*    finishing a really good book (The Loop) and starting another (A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian)
*    hugs and warmth when I really neeed it
*    making and eating cake

I know it all sounds a bit cheesy but hey, I am just a hippy really x
