This weeks carboot loot...

I must admit to being somewhat of a carboot/charity shop/table top sale addict...I simply CANNOT drive past one without a little nosey about. I happened across a carboot sale today and found these treasures..

 Gorgeous vintage kids books from the 70/80's and my gavourite magazines...for 50p woohoo!

I also bought this dinky little box...which my daughter has (yet again) claimed. It is now her 'Cabinet of Curiousities' and is home to an eclectic selection of objects..and a new collection of dead bees! Yes...she is most definately taking after her mother!

I bought this 1950's bird cage last week and it will shortly be transformed into something magical and unexpected! I can't wait to start work on it! 

 but..yet again..it has been claimed by my daughter..I wil have to steal it back when she gets bored of it!

Well...got to run..we are attempting to have a bonfire and bbq although the wind has picked up quite a bit so I'm hoping I wont burn down the Orchard! Ive got marshmallows at the ready..

Fiery Sky

My neighbours kids were out practicing their fire staff and devil stick tricks last night. It looked amazing against the blackness. They are such cool guys, just 9 and 13 years old but already very talented dancers and performers!

and following a Joy Pocket I did a week ago...here is a link to the recipe I used to make the chocolate  banana cake. I just used chopped up cooking chocolate instead of raisins and we made them as cupcakes...cos we are impatient and didnt want to wait an hour!! Enjoy! x

strange and beautiful

Fire
There is nothing I like more, especially when I'm feeling hollowed and hazy, than sitting and gazing at a fire. Strangely as I sat there, some words kept spinning around my head. You know what its like when you get a song stuck in your head..well it was "your serpentine tounge laps like water". I can feel inspiration for some absract feiry piece bubbling up. Hopefully it'll surface one day. 

I find it meditative to sit and stare at a fire, I can stare for hours at its ever changing beating rhythmic waves.

....and (as always) on a random note, I bought this little lot yesterday...so crafting is on the way!
