and best of all are FESTIVALS!!

I'm off to the Port Eliot Festival this weekend. I have just finished installing my flower show entry...this man sized rather dappa Walrus and his mate the Carpenter!

"Caloo Callay"

Walrus and (headless) Carpenter!

Little J and the Walrus
The weather this week...month...year!! has been crazy. I took these two photos straight after one another. One was facing South and one North. As you can see its fairly changeable! It's why we harp on about the weather so much I guess. This is my Cornish contribution to Skywatch Friday (see below).

And finally, a little evening tinkering about sewing after little M asked for a mermaids tail on night as she went off to bed. There was a great tutorial at Craftzine which I used to make it.
As you can see I've discovered photo editing, I've been using PicMonkey and its mega easy!

I'm joining up with Fiona for another Greenday over at Raindrops and daisys. You can go and check out other green theme posts from around the globe if you hop on over there.

Also joining up with Skywatch Friday link up, which features lots of posts with a sky theme..as you might well guess! There are some amazing photos shared from all over the world.

I can't wait to show photos from the festival...so keep your eyes peeled for the next post!

Have a great weekend
Love Dotty

New crafty friends

Earlier this week I met with the talented crafty mother Chloe, who writes the Woolly Soup blog. I have been oggling this fab red lady on her Etsy site and so I had to have one!
She is a pin cushion..although it feels a bit wrong as she is so lovely, I just love the little mushroom bag..I need to make a big version for me.
Other news...A GIVEAWAY...My fellow blogger who writes the Diary of a Middle Aged Drama Queen is having a giveaway to celebrate her first year anniversary of blogging! Go and pay her a visit and bag yourself some goodies! This little sock fella is included in the giveaway!!!...I want him!
Take Care and have a good weekend x

Claim to Fame

Here is my little french froggie prince. I got rather carried away making him. He was made a a present for my nans 85th birthday. As a kid I would always bring here a little model frog on each visit until she accumulated quite a lot. Weirdly she does not know how it started as she didn't even collect frogs? But the theme has stuck so I made this rather dappa and swish frog for her.
aaah oui monsieur
I am joining in with Fiona over at Raindrops & Daisys for another Green Day link up.  Oh there is so very much much muchly green around on account of the never ending rain that we are having!!
Here are some action shots of the frog creation!!

More cards...

Here are some of the latest cards I've been making...

Apologies for the lack of photo cropping and the crazy angles of the pictures...its the way they scanned in for some odd reason. I still haven't mastered the photo editing technology...I will get on a mission tomorrow to get to grips with it...any recommendations of good ones, help or advice are welcome!!!

Update...have discovered Picmonkey and I can't believe how easy it is although my new issue is that because I've only ever downloaded photos directly from the camera they are massive files and I've used up my upload limit. Hopefully I wont have to delete all the Picasa album as this seems to delete the photos from the blog???? Then I may have to upload them all again as smaller files...so faffy.!!

HELP!!!

 Thanks for looking

Green greetings!

I'm in the midst of yet another super last minute birthday pressie making session but I couldn't resist sharing some lovely green things for the linky party at Raindrops & Daisys. (and it seems quite fitting that I'm making a frog doll for my nan..just to keep the theme going!) So here goes....

We visited the Eden Project on Sunday and had a rare glimpse of sunshine! There are so many stunning flowers there, I particularly loved the wildflower borders, as did little Miss M.

the bio domes at the Eden Project

ruby chard
and a little cushion cover and matching card (how very twee indeed) commissioned by a friend to give to her boyfriends mother (who is a sheep farmer!)
and more cards in progress.... sew many circles....

Thanks for looking my lovelies
Well wishes and soggy summer greetings from little ol' Cornwall
