New craft room space!!

At last!!! I can actually get in the room and get sewing without having to faff about for hours first. It's all coming together now. I've got a desk and some rather gorgeous drawers which are now filled to the brim with fabric...lovely lovely fabric!!!
Notice how I've carefully not shown the left side of the room...ahem...its still a work in progress!

 and the beautiful drawers...

and I have christened my new space by making some super last minute pressies for my mama's birthday.
A new bright little fella to keep the blackbird company. I love these little birds and I'm starting to get the hang of making them, although its still pretty time consuming and fiddley, they are well worth the effort. They are from the book The Artful Bird by Abby Glassenberg who writes the inspiring blog While She Naps.

I also made a few new cards using my new shape cutter tool toy by Fiskars and a butterflies stencil template.
and I gave me ma a bunch of flowers picked from the garden and hedgerows around the house.

Well folks, good day to you and hoping you have a fabulous and foxy week! xx

  1. Oooh lucky you! What I wouldn't give for a room of my own to er, do STUFF in. Well mainly write, but also have pretty things on the wall, and you never know, maybe even have the sewing machine in so I learn to use it properly. Are ALL those drawers full of fabric?

Amazing little birds as well, I'm very impressed.

    1. thanks Lakota, and yep, the drawers are indeed crammed with fabric. I have to admit that I didn't realise quite how much I'd gathered until I started putting it away. I think I need to work on some big scale quilts and stuff or the fabric stash may continue to grow until there's no room for me in the room! waah

  4. Thankyou Lynn! It's good to finally have space for my favourite books and fabrics to live. I love the illustrations from vintage childrens books so I've accumulated quite a few! I love looking at other folks work spaces too and I think I'll add a little close up of the books..great idea! x

  5. Lucky you. I would love a room for my stuff, instead I am relegated to a corner in the kitchen (which gets moaned about).

    1. My stash of stuff was beginning to take over the kitchen! The only problem will be in a few years when the kids can't share a room anymore...then we'll have to move or I will lose my new beloved room!noooooooo (and my stuff was regularly moaned about too!)

  9. Your craft room looks terrific and so neat and tidy. Love the bird you made. I've borrowed The Artful Bird from our library a couple of times but have yet to try my hand at making one.
