nifty thrifty sunday

This weeks carboot loot included this lovely book...
I love old books...I love birds...this is my favourite kind of find!
Also found these lot on the same stall

Finding vintage kids books is becoming a bit of an obsession!
Got a few new reads...not bad at 20p each

and some more glitzy scarves (for 50p)...nice!
There was a load of other stuff...i went a bit mad this week, Ive managed to find a carboot sale with a park and ice cream van near by so my dear Mr comes along with the kids and I get to loot the carboot all on my own...freedom !

Anyways, we've got family folk staying so I'd better be off. I'm linking up with her library adventures blog to share my carboot wares on the weekly "flea market finds". Have you been thrifting this fine sunday?

bye lovelies x

  1. Great finds, I love that jay illustration, like you I'm a big fan of birds and vintage books, so I'd have snapped that up.

I've just read 'The Help' and really enjoyed it.

  2. Lovely books I've just gotten into vintage children books too!

    E :)

  3. is always such a treat to find old books in a low price... i love going to charity shops or fleemarkets ... I`ve read other books of Janne Harris. she is good : )

  4. cheers guys, I am getting into "The Help", its taking me a while to get with the lingo but I do think it will be hard for the other Joanne Harris books to live up to Chocolat, I enjoyed it so much. I just love the cheapness of carboot sales, although my other half doesn't...usually end up coming home with a carboot of "treasures" that nobody else wants...oh well it keeps me happy! x

  5. loving that elephant illustration! What book is that from?
Thank you for visiting my blog the other day. So very nice to meet you!

  6. Thanks Lady Cordelia! The elephant illustration is from the book 'Another Time Stories' by Donald Bisset (1970). The illustrations are all really basic line drawings but they are brilliant. the elphants were one of the best! i'll take a few more pics from it when I get a chance! :)

  7. OMG! Dougal! I loved the Magic Roundabout. Great finds.

    Madison xxx

  8. The magic roundabout really is in a league of its own for craziness!! true brilliance indeed :)

  9. Hi there,
