Anyway, here goes.... some little peeks at the things that have bought me joy this past week...
The wedding album cover...better late than never |
Butterflies at the natural history museum |
Visiting the Natural History Museum in Tring, Hertfordshire...just amazing!
*
Watching little Miss M make everyone smile and laugh, especially her "80 something" year old big nana
*
Friut leathers...a brilliant new recipe to help use the ridiculous amount of apples and blackberries here.
*
Sitting around a bonfire watching shooting stars on the New Moon with my beautiful neighbours.
*
Feeling in tune with the elements, enjoying the bounty of late Summer and welcoming Autumn.
*
Watching piglets and mama pig root around and then just collapse into a heap and sleep, they really know how to chill out! (this was on a visit to the Maize Maze and Fun Farm...but I want pigs and goats now!!)
*
Giving up eating Wheat (again...) and starting to feel a whole lot better already
*
Finshing making a friends wedding album cover (finally...nearly a year late..oops...)
*
Seeing the little J after his hair cut, we asked for it to be kept long, just trimmed a bit...they gave him a proper short boys hair cut, but when I saw him I couldnt stop laughing..it was really the first time ive seen him as a boy rather than my little baby/toddler!

How wonderful! So many goodies. Love the sitting around a bonfire watching shooting stars one, and well done on giving up wheat again! It's hard, but makes such a difference to ones's health.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to go to the natural history museum in Tring, even though it's not that far from here. Must go. Thanks for the reminder!

My goodness what well rounded sensuality in your life... I love the image of a bonfire, shooting star, new moon, and neighbors... Wow!
ReplyDeletewow, thankyou lovely ladies for your comments, so lovely to hear from you. I have missed doinf Joy pockets the past few weeks, its good to be back!
ReplyDeleteCarin, definately make a trip to the Tring museum, funnily enough my nan has lived only 20 mins from there for the past 36 years and had never heard of it, we only discovered it last year, it really is stunning to see. We live in cornwall but always visit there now when we are up in Herts.
and as for giving up wheat, im feeling good about it at the moment but it gets harder in the cold of winter when i go into baking overdrive!! the smell of fresh bread is torture! but it is definately worth it.
bye, wishing you all joyful weekends xxxxxx
What a great week! I love the bonfire and shooting stars, and welcoming autumn.
ReplyDeleteOh I live down the road from the Tring Museum.
ReplyDeleteMy kids have spent many a rainy afternoon with clipboards laughing at the stuffed dogs and the mexican flea in clothes.
Such a lovely lovely place
x
I never saw the flea! I read about him in the guidebook after getting back home to Cornwall, and I missed the dogs too, I didnt realise until too late (i.e back at the entrance!) that there was a 3rd level! definately check it out next time. Funny what a small world it is really!, another lady, Carin said how she nlly lives a short distance from it too! My nan lives in Hemel Hempstead and we visit her a few times a year, i was so pleased to discover it last year! I wish it was closer..I'd be there every week!..my favourite is the little cabinet of humming birds, they are so tiny. Great stuff x
